Lately, I've found myself in different situations pondering this quote. When I stay up late so I can listen to the sounds of a sleeping house and wait for inspiration to hit. On my way to and from school. My life lately seems so quiet lately but I believe that is in preparation for something life changing coming my way. Even in the past few days/weeks it seems my life has already been changing. I started a new semester at a new school a few weeks ago. I'm making new friends and spending, at times, more time by myself than ever before. Meeting someone and growing so close in a matter of hours, of days. Then there is the change that comes that we don't want to see.The one year anniversary of a close friend's death came on Sunday and her birthday today. The one year anniversary of the passing of a close friend's mother next week. Realizing that some things you can't work through until you're absolutely ready.

Just some thoughts to ponder these evening.

Earlier today I happened about a video. In this video, a Girl Scout Cadette calls for a boycott of Girl Scout cookies because Girl Scouts welcomes transgender girls. I'll let you watch the video yourself and make your own opinion but here is mine.

I wonder if she has even thought of the female-identifying people she is asking to be turned away. Is their mental safety & well-being not allowed to be protected? I believe that the safety of a minority that has higher odds of being bullied does matter. If that means letting female identifying kids enter a Girl Scout troop, then by all means let them.

She talks about the Girl Scout Law which states that a girl will do her best to be "honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, and responsible for what I say and do,and to respect myself and others, respect authority, use resources wisely, make the world a better place, and be a sister to every Girl Scout." In my opinion, she isn't living up to the law at all. I will be boycotting against her boycotting and will be buying LOTS of cookies this year. What she is saying, goes against everything I have learned in Girl Scouts. It makes me sad that she isn't willing to be a sister to every Girl Scout and still wears that uniform. I believe that Girl Scouts is for EVERY girl.

Needed Change

I’ve decided to grow my bangs out as well as the rest of my hair. (: I’ve had bangs for basically my entire life and I think it’s time for a needed change. I’m also really self conscious about my forehead so I think growing my bangs out will help me get over that. (:

On another note, being home is really nice. (: I start school in about two weeks although I still need to register. I'm working on applying for a job and trying to get a little more settled in. I'm also trying to think about goals I want to make for the new year. Normally I make one or two goals and don't keep them but I really want to keep mine this next year. (: For those of you on Pandora, listen to the Gold Motel station. Definitely makes me wish it was summer. (:
